AHSGE and Attendance: Your future is at stake!
The Alabama High School Graduation Exam is this week and the first part began today. The AHSGE consists of five sections-reading, math, language, science, and social studies. High School students must currently pass all parts of the exam in order to graduate from high school. If students pass the exam on the first try that is one less thing that they will have to worry about while at HHS.

The importance of school attendance: Students need to be in school!
Obviously getting a proper education is important for our children’s future. What's less obvious is that low attendance in any school has serious consequences for students and their future success. Most parents want their children to be successful in life and according to statistics getting a good education is a key ingredient and this begins with school attendance.
Make-up Weather Days
We will make up the first weather day on Friday, February 12th. The second weather day will be made up on Wednesday, March 17th. We will still be out on February 15th and March 15th-16th if we have no further weather problems.
School will start late on Thursday and Friday!
School will begin at 10:00am on 1/7/2010 and 1/8/2010 due to possible hazardous weather conditions in our area. This means that busses will run two hours later than usual. Please listen to the news for additional information concerning school openings/closings and dismissals. These will be provided as weather conditions change in our area. Our top priority is keeping your children and our students safe!
Back for 2010
We'd like to thank our teachers for attending our inservice meetings today (1/4/2010) and hope that they learned some useful information that will help them in the classroom as we all move forward.

April 20, 1999, was one of the most tragic days in school history. Craig Scott, a sophomore, was in the library of Columbine High School as two gunman opened fire killing Scott's sister, two friends he was with, as well as nine other students and one teacher.
